Converts 12 volts DC from a battery or power supply, to a variable 12 to 24 V voltage. Output power is 60 watts. That means 5 amps output current at 12 volts, or 3.3 A at 18 volts, or 2.5 amps at 24 volts. You can turn the knob to dial any voltage between 12 and 24 volts.
Handy whenever you need more than 12 volts. Input voltage is 7 to 14 volts, so it can be powered from a 7.2-volt nicad or lithium ion battery pack, or from a small 12-volt lead acid battery. Can also be used when camping or whenever you need higher voltage from your car's cigarette jack. And since many laptops use about 15-volt 3-amp power supplies, this module could be used to power or recharge such laptops from a car's battery.
For full power output (60 W), the battery or power supply should be able to deliver 5.8 amps. Has very high efficiency, 89% which is better than most transformers. If you add a small cooling fan, the output power will increase by a third, to 80 Watts. Output is regulated.
